Meramec Electrical Products Building $5M Addition in Cuba, Missouri

Meramec Electrical Products is investing $5 million and creating 37 jobs in Cuba, Missouri. The company will build a new facility at the site of its existing operations.

The company will receive more than $197,000 in Enhanced Enterprise Zone tax credits. It will use the money to add a third building, which will house new product lines supplying power generators, wind farms, and smart-grid technologies.

Meramec will improve its facility to make operations safer and cleaner. The company has committed to reducing power use and reusing waste power to run equipment and heat the facility.

Meramec produces instrument current transformers for the power transformer and high-voltage circuit breaker markets. Its clients include Mitsubishi Electric Products, Siemens Energy, and Areva.
