Monday, Mar 15, 2010

Cooper Power Systems, a Waukesha-based division of Cooper Industries Ltd., said Friday it signed a contract to supply We Energies with a majority of the utility's electrical transformers through 2014.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Cooper Power Systems said it will supply We Energies with single-phase pole-mounted transformers, single-phase pad-mounted transformers and three-phase pad-mounted transformers.

"This agreement represents joint financial commitments from two major Wisconsin-based employers to help advance the economy of the state," Mike Stoessl, Cooper Power Systems group president, said in a statement announcing the contract.

Cooper Power Systems employs about 2,200 people at facilities throughout southeastern Wisconsin. We Energies has about 4,800 employees throughout its southeastern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan service area.
